PATTERN

Apps had 90 questions to be solved in 90 minutes.. it contained 30 quants, 30 logical reasoning and 30 verbal questions... the test was not an online test.. i was given question paper and had to mark answers on omr sheet.. and its easy enough to crack if you know the basics and concepts... you will have to crack one question in one minute.. so imagine how easy it would be… you will be able to solve it but you must keep a constant eye on the time… some cases time wont be sufficient… and no negative marking and no use of calculator..

Then is the group discussion round where you will be given a general topic to discuss on... for my batch it was "hike in petrol prices".. number of points you tell does not matter... they notice whether you are listening when others are speaking out their points, whether there is team work in your batch, and how well you are maintaining the continuity of the topic with your points... just introduce your point such a way it continues with the topic.. and give chance to others.. this will help the hr know that you are good in teamwork… in my batch the guy who initiated and concluded the topic was not selected.. and do listen or atleast nod like you are listening… maintain eye contact with your teammates… even if you talk only once its okay if your point is a strong valid point…

Next is the technical round where questions are mostly from your areas of interest, your project (for ece and eee questions on the basics of microcontrollers was asked if it was not the area of interest mentioned), (for a eee guy they asked what happens inside a battery charger?.. there is a step down transformer to step down the voltage) ..

Then paragraph writing (no elimination in this round) just to test your writing skills.. for me it was “if I was to choose the person of the millennium who would it be and why? “  This essay was for the reference of HR.

Then finally HR round… questions were simple like do you have in other companies interview.. ALL THE BEST!! DO WELL!

TIPS:

Written Test:

As some of my friends appeared for  Written test, as per their opinion it was a little difficult test than expected. It was comprised of   three sections as follows:
1. Quantitative Aptitude/Mathematics: was comparatively easy. Refer R.S. Agrawal book.
2. Reasoning: It was average one. Refer book by R.S. Agrawal for this as well.
3. English: It was slightly difficult section.

Group Discussion:

GD were conducted in the groups of 12, and the topics given were easy and well known to us. Some of them are;
1. Love marriage Vs Arrange marriage.
2. Should students participate in politics or not?
3. Corruption etc.

There was not a pattern of selecting 2-3 gyus per group. But  number of guys who were good, all were selected. Even from one group 8 from 12 were selected.

Take initiative, lead the discussion, speak confidently and behave well. Dont be aggressive during discussion.

Technical Interview:

The guys from CS & IT should be good in technical. As they expect more here. And as I was from mechanical, interviewer just asked me some basics of C, C++ and web designing as I have learnt the same as well. He also asked me about my project work in deep of knowledge and some general questions. Some of them are;

1. First and common question: Tell me something about yourself?
ANS: Answer it really well and confidently because it represent your respect for yourself.
2. He asked details of hobbies I told in my introduction.
3. What are the attributes and elements used for web designing?
4. What kind of project you are doing? Tell me exactly what it is? and how are you overcoming the challenges faced by you during this?
ANS: I explained everything in details.
5. Why do you want to join IT sector though you are from mechanical?
